About

I am currently an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Niagara University in Niagara Falls, NY; you can view my NU profile here. My research is in algebra, especially involving homological methods in commutative algebra, but my interests also extend into algebraic K-theoy, category theory, triangulated categories, algebraic representation theory, geometry, and topology. A list of my papers and other research interests can be found on my research page or on the arXiv. I am also passionate about teaching at all levels of mathematics and spending time with my family.

Recently, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim Norway, from 2018-2021, and prior to that I was a postdoc at Texas Tech University from 2016-2018. I received my PhD in 2016 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where my advisor was Mark Walker. Before that, I received my BA (with majors in Mathematics and English Literature) from Augustana University. You can download a current version of my CV here.

NU Student Mathematics Colloquium (2021-2022)

I am currently the organizer of the Student Mathematics Colloquium at Niagara University. For a list of upcoming talks, please visit the math events page. One goal of these talks is to expose students to interesting and accessible mathematical content outside of the usual curriculum, and to promote interaction between the students and faculty members from nearby institutions.
